REDUCING RISK

Every time you slide into the driver’s seat, you’re basically strapping yourself to a powerful, dangerous, and potentially deadly machine. Making safe and sensible driving decisions is crucial, as you will be subject to considerable risk just by choosing to drive in the first place. Drivers can greatly reduce risk by cooperating responsibly and legally with law enforcement officials. If you are stopped by a law enforcement officer, signal and drive off as soon as it is safe to do so and follow instructions. Don’t get aggressive when driving, and follow all traffic laws. Share the road with other drivers, pedestrians, bicyclists, and motorcyclists. Always drive defensively and be aware of everything going on around you and your vehicle. Make sure to always wear your seat belt when your vehicle is in motion. Doing these things will help you reduce your risk legally and safely.
